The Changes Coming To My Brand

It’s crazy to think that I started this blog 3 years ago. (It will be 3 years in October)

Sometimes it feels like yesterday.

And then on a day like today, I feel like I’ve been doing this for 10 years.

At this point, I’m so ridiculously proud and happy with my brand.

When I first started, I had no idea where it would go. And as I sit here today, I’m just so thrilled with what I’ve been able to create up until this point.

But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t room for adjustment, improvement, and growth.

I think every year since I started my blog I’ve made a big change.

And now it’s time for the next change within my brand.

Now don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.

And the content that you currently see on my blog will still be here as well.

But I am making a change with the content that I share on my blog.

things are changing

WHAT CHANGING

If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel, nothing is going to change with that content!

I still want to focus on digital marketing tips with a special focus on Blogging, Pinterest, and YouTube.

So don’t expect that to change.

With my Instagram, that’s not changing either!

I’m still going to be talking to you guys daily on IG stories and sharing the same kind of content with my posts.

The change is coming with my blog posts.

When I first started this blog, I would only talk about digital marketing.

And I loved it! I loved sharing what I knew, tips and tricks, tutorials, you name it.

But over time, I felt like I was creating the same content that everyone else was creating.

There are a lot of blog posts out there that have “3 tips to ___” and they make it seem so simple to achieve the things that you want to achieve.

But we all know that it’s not that simple.

I’m not going to lie… I’ve created those blog posts!

Mainly because I thought I had to. When I was trying to grow my blog, I would look at other successful bloggers and try to imitate what they were doing,

And at the time, a lot of them were sharing those kinds of posts.

Heck, most of them still are!

But over time, I felt like I wanted to share more. I wanted to actually help my audience instead of offering only bits and pieces of the information that they were looking for.

So my content changed.

I still talked about digital marketing but in a different way.

Instead of keeping some of what I knew a secret, I decided to share everything!

I let you in on my struggles, my strategies, and I tried to open up the curtain so you could get a real picture behind-the-scenes.

But there is so much more that I want to share.

There is still so much that I haven’t told you. And I want that to change.

WHY I’M MAKING THIS CHANGE

It’s impossible to ignore that my blog revolves around me.

For a while, I thought it was all about my content and knowledge.

That people only came around for the information that I had to share.

But really, it’s about me!

And that’s a realization that I recently had.

My Instagram audience is the most engaged, connected, and invested audience that I have here online.

And there’s a reason for that.

With my Instagram, I’m unfiltered.

I don’t just share all things digital marketing.

I talk about my life. I share what I’m doing on a daily basis with work and life.

You guys get to see my house, my garden, my workflow, my dog, my struggles, and the real me.

And that’s the thing with being “an online personality” (as much as I hate to call myself that), people stay around because of YOU!

So I want my brand to better represent me and not just the digital marketing side of me.

I want to be able to share the content that I share on Instagram on my blog.

Like the other day, I shared an Instagram post all about confidence.

Honestly, I wanted to create a whole blog post out of it. But I held myself back and saved it for Instagram because I didn’t think that you guys would be interested in a blog post like that.

And then I asked on Instagram stories if you would want me to share more of my personal life on my blog and there was a 98% yes!

So here I am.

Finally making the change that I’ve been wanting to make for a little while now.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Of course, I’m still going to share my digital marketing tips and knowledge with you guys here on my blog.

But I more so want to make the shift to stop sharing “tips” posts. Or the ones that kinda feel like fluff.

I want to share how I do things.

Talk about my strategy, how I live my life, what I do to grow my business, and those kinds of things.

I want it to feel real and genuine and not like I’m sharing content that doesn’t really tell you anything important.

Plus I want to share things like the books I love, my personal development journey, and what’s going on in my life.

Would you guys be interested in how I’m planning my wedding or just surviving my engagement? I’m not sure if that’s something you would be interested in but I would love to talk about it!

Really I just want to share my life!

I want to bring you behind the scenes and share the things I’ve been too afraid to share before because I put myself in a bubble.

This blog is mine. And it’s about me, my journey as a blogger, and how I’m conquering this life.

And hopefully, along the way, I’ll be able to help you create and live your best life.

MY VISION

The brand that I want to build… I don’t want it to feel fake in any way.

I want it to be real.

To be genuine and unfiltered.

And an accurate representation of me.

I want to share a side of myself that you guys haven’t seen before.

I want to talk about how hard I work. How much I’ve struggled to build this brand, deal with comparison, and continue to chase after this dream even when it seems like nothing is happening.

There is so much that you still don’t know and that’s what I want to share!

So this is the first blog post that’s going to really switch things up.

Usually, I only share these kinds of blog posts a couple of times a year.

Like when I’m sharing my yearly recap or even the other month when I shared a life update with you guys.

But you can expect them a bit more often.

These blog posts will still be structured the same! Trust me, I couldn’t do that to my SEO lol.

And the way that I write isn’t going to change either.

Just what I write about.

So I really hope you guys like this change and that you stick around while I figure this next big shift out.

I’ll see you back here soon with another blog post.

But until then… bye guys!

XO, Cathrin

    1. Hello, you used to write fantastic, but the last few posts have been kinda boring… I miss your tremendous writings. Past several posts are just a little bit out of track! come on!

    2. It feels like digital marketing and SEO is on a subtle recalibration path that continually emphasizes user engagement and audience loyalty over raw traffic. This change in content to your brand, and trying to create content that can’t be put into the same boxes that everybody is using to package their content makes a lot of sense. Agree? Disagree?

      • Nope, I didn’t! At this point, I don’t feel the need to make the switch to SSL. That’s my choice!
